Hillside Garden Restoration

Restoring space, light and colour to a hillside garden

Location:
Exeter

Our clients hillside garden had been left for several years, and the plants and trees had outgrown their original space. The borders had become overcrowded and weedy. They also felt unbalanced as several grasses were overly prominent.

We could see the garden had been well thought out in the past. However, some plants were not in keeping with the style and size of their original intended areas.

Our aim was to restore the garden to its former beauty but modifying the design for the current owners. We did this by pruning all trees, shrubs, and plants, weeding through the entire garden, and removing unwanted plants. This allowed us to bring back the original form, shape, and colour to the borders. We also worked on improving the lawns which are now flat, healthy, and weed free and complement the borders.
This restoration provided a standard at which weekly maintenance would continue.

In additon to the restoration, we have also improved the garden year on year. We've done this by adding new plants, pruning to encourage flowers, and opening up previously lost views.

We have also built new compost bins with our Decking and Bespoke Structures service, enabling us to improve the soil health and in turn the flowers.
