Turfing Transformation

Creating instant impact by turfing an unwanted veg plot.

Location:
Sidmouth

In this garden, our client no longer required a vegetable patch which had become overgrown and weedy. Old plastic-woven liner had started to disintegrate with weeds capitalising on this weakness and taking over. We recommended turfing the area to provide an instant transformation.

We used a mini digger to clear the area of vegetation, roots, buried rubble and the old liner. This approach ensured the best results for the new lawn, as it prevented cutting up and distributing weed roots. We then imported several tonnes of a premium quality topsoil and compost blend to the area. The mini digger was useful in evenly distributing the soil and levelling the area ready for laying the new turf. We arranged for the new turf to be delivered and began turfing immediately to ensure the grass didn't dry out and die.

The result was a lush and level lawn, which continues to delight the customer. We now care for this garden as part of our ongoing maintenance services. After several months, we can see that the effort in preparing the ground correctly has paid off with a healthy lawn.
